Nicol, ami lias been berthed at Princes Wharf for dismantling before being broken tip. Tho vessel was launched from Ivooniati s Bay in 1886. «he was rigged as a. barque, and under tile command oi Captain John Mackay, a son of the builder, was for a- long time engaged in intercolonial trade. It is said that aim trained more. Aucklanders for the sea than env other vessel afloat. About 14 years ago she was bought by the Devonport, Ferry Co. lor use as a hulk. During the. war tire vessel was bought by Messrs. J. Burns and Co., and was recommissioned. She was soon idle again, and has since been in tlm stream, being used occasionally as a store for explosives
