INCREASED REVENUE (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The return of the postal and telegrap revenue for the quarter ended December 31, 1928, shows that the was £960,629, compared with £883,817 for the corresponding quarter the previous year. The postal revenue for the fourth quarter of 1928 amounted to £394,423, and telegraph revenue to £566,206, compared with £365,483 and £518,333 respcctivelv for the last quarter of Tho totals of the postal and telegraph revenue at tho four centres were : Auckland, £226,306; Wellington, £136,080 (excluding G.P.O. £51,616); Christchurch, £131,128; Dunedin, £45,616. The other centres with a heavy turnover were Hamilton £71,249, Napier £27.626, Invercargill £24,303, New Plymouth £23,257, Palmerston North £37,943, Timaru £29,051, and Wanganui £29,599. In the Post Office Savings Banks throughout the Dominion the deposits in the quarter ended December, 1928, totalled £6.784,178. and the withdrawals totalled £7,187,755. compared with £7,152,342 and £7,909,573 respectively in the fourth quarter of 1927. In the former case the excess of withdrawals over deposits was £403,576 and in the latter case £757,231.
