N.S.W. BUSH FIRES
FURTHER DAMAGE CAUSED (Received Januarv 51, 1 p.m.) SYD’NKY, Jan. 31. With the. recurrence of the hot weather bush fires are raging from Gosf.ord up to the North Coast. Much damage has been done. Two houses were destroyed at Belmont and five at Tarcoma, where the residents fought all day to preserve their homes. 'J'be lives are responsible for terrific heat throughout, the northern districts and at least- one death has resulted. Thomas Cook, 19. collaped and died at Ivors lev. Bush fires threaten to destroy the Gosford racecourse.
