MORE ACTIVITY URGED THE GROWERS’ VIEWPOINT (Special to (he Herald.) < HRTSTOHURCII, this day. At a meeting of the Canterbury Slieepfariners’ Union it was unanimously decided to, support a research department for wool from the growers’ point of view, viz., as to suitable feeds, constitution, and breeds for varying localities and conditions, so as to obtain the host results with a view to a maximum profit to slieepowners under varying conditions. It was agreed tTint facilities for research along these lines, with the interests of the wool grower as the first consideration, rather than that of the textile trade as such, should lie the aim of the research depart ment. The opinion was expressed by sev-
eral members that the Lincoln Agricultural College was an ideal locality for research work along these lines, and the secretary was authorised to keep in touch with the Lincoln College Board of Governors with a view to giving every assistance along the lines indicated.
