BOARDINGHOUSE BURNED
(Per Press Association.! DUNEDIN, last, night. At 5.45 a.m. to-day, Mrs. Kyle's boardinghouse at Brighton was totally destroyed by lire, and all the personal belongings of the occupants lost. Yesterday morning some lighted paper fell from a range, setting lire to a mat and the floor. It was thought, this was put out. but it must have smouldered, blazing up again during the night. There were no boarders in the house at the time and the occupants, who were sleeping Oil t.lie top floor, had to escape by the fire escape. The building and contents were covered Lv a policy foi £I4OO with the Northern office, and there was £65 on the piano.
