MAN RUNS AMOK
HOMESTEAD SET AFIRE SHOT FIRED AT OWNER (Received December 15, noon) BRISBANE, Dec. 15. A message from Richmond states that the Petersford station home was destroyed by fire on Thursday night. The building is alleged to have been set on lire by a well-known resident of the district, who, it is alleged, also fired a shot at McMillan, owner of the station, but missed. The man, who is said to be out of 1 his mind, then cleared into the bush with a rifle. A police party is searching. It is feared that he may commit suicide.
