SECOND TEST MATCH A PERFECT WICKET (Elea Tel. Copyright,---United Press Assn (Speciu] to Press Assn.) (Received Pec. 34, 2.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 11. The weather is warm and the wicket perfect for the second test. England omitted -Mead, and AusBradman. Ryder won the toss and Australia is batting. ENGLAND WILL WIN BUT HARD GAME LIKELY LONDON PRESS COMMENT (Australian and N.Z Press Association.! (Received December 14, 2 p.m.) LONDON, December 13. The Morning Post, in an editorial, says: “Whatever happens in Sydney we may lie sure the Brisbane debacle will not be repeated. Australia bad all the worst of the luck, but what is more surprising, did not show that tenacity in a tight cornel’ which is one of the most formidable characteristics of Australian sides. Australian cricket, like English in 1921, is in a state of transition. It is difficult, to decide the claims of oldsters and youngsters. The selectors have shown courage in making a few changes, which illustrates the saying that it is hard to enter a. testteam in Australia, and still harder to get out. With statistics on their side, ns well as the thrilling sympathy of the most exuberant crowds of any of the Empire’s playing fields, we are con* llclent that whoever wins the loss Chapman’s team will not only succeed, butwill deserve success.”
