A. meeting of members of the Poverty Ufiv Bowling Club was held in the A her .urn Hull Inst evening, Mr. W. .1. Me (iihbon presiding over a. huge attendance. The meeting was held to arrange sialic function by which silflicient fends eoujd be derived to pay off a debt of A!4(tO on the second of two 'seel ions recently purchased by the club. The pro posal to hold a carnival in March, 1929, was agreed upon unanimously. The president, Mr. McCtiblmn, said 'that by holding ii carnival it was hoped to raise 412C0, which would largely assist in reducing the nihility. Both the Thursday and Sal■tirdnv *plavers had offered Io assist in any function. v It was decided to divide the d'istriil on a similar basis to that adopted by the district competitions la.st year, each area to have a committee. A central committee, comprising Messrs. Oolley, O.wiss, Ranger, Phillips, and Slight, was appointed to make all arrangements for the carnival. It was also decided to include stalls. 'dances and sideshows, while several entertainments wero submitted tor consideration.
