TOKOMARU FLOWER SHOW
(Herald Correspondent.) The summer show \vas held, in To Puka, Hall, Tokomaru Bay, yesterday. The weather was ideal, and there were good attendances, both in the afternoon and evening. It was feared that the recent rough weather, which compelled 1 a postponement from Thursday of last week, would have done such damage to flowers that the display of these would have been poor. Such, however, was not the case, and there was' a very fine exhibition of flowers, some of the blooms being of particularly fine quality. The vegetables shewn were all of good quality. Ihe provision of an extra table helped very materially in showing off exhibits to advantage. The children’s work was well displayed on a special table, and attracted much attention. The hall was greatly set oft' by the fine exhibit pf the society’s cups and trophies. The show was very successful from every point of view. At the end of the evening session the produce and flowers (remaining were auctioned by Mr. \V. Langdon. One gratifying feature was that the exhibits, practically without exception, were purely local.
