(Special io the Hera hi AUCKLAND, this flay. By a strange turn of fortunes wheel, one of the ships that helped to wm the war for the Allies has been purchased bv Germany. The well-known •Shaw. Sav'd! 'and' Albion Co. liner, Arawa. been sold to Clermau buyeis for £24.000. During the'war the Arawa was used as a transport. She passed safely through that dangerous period, and since peace was declared has traded regulaviv between the Old Country and Now Zealand. Except - during the war period she lias been trading steadily on this route since 1007. The vessel was built by Swan, Hunter ami Wighani Richardson, Newcastle, and her tonnage is 9372 tains gross, tier net tonnage is 5985,_ and she carries 11.750 tons dead weight. _ arrived at- Southampton from New Zealand on September 15.
