Mr. Butters, who succeeds Mr. Barnsdalc in the management of the National Bank at Gisborne, was u guest at the Rotary Club’s luncheon to-day. In view of his departure for Christchurch next Tuesday, Mr. IL A. Barnsciale and (aniily were tendered ait • informal supper at tlm residence of the Holy Trinity organist. Mr. Ei. N. Sidebottem. Twenty-live male members of the church choir, accompanied by friends, were present, and a most enjoyable evening resulted. The guests were entertained with musical and vocal numbers, and a dainty supper was served by Mrs. Sidobctfcm. 'Speaking on behalf of the choir, Mr. Sideboltom said they were sorry to lose the services of Mr. Barnsdalc. lie congratulated him mi his promotion, and wished him every success in the future. Messrs. C. V. Mam;. W. A. Cartels, n-ml A. E. Pyatt endorsed the previous speaker’s remarks. Mr. Parnsdnle thanked the speakers, and said lie regretted leaving Gisborne after such a short stay.
