Mr. H. Stephens, overseas superintendent of the. New Zealand Fruit.. Control Hoard, arrived in Gisborne last night, and this morning Was met by opresontalives of the Poverty Bay Fruit Growers' Association. He visited •i number of orchards during the day, and this afternoon attended a meeting of fruitgrowers. Mr. -Stephens, who, arrived from England about, a month ago, is accompanied by his daughter. Miss V. Stephens, and Mr. W. Ben/.ies. shipping supervisor at Wellington for the board Mr. Stephens has now almost completed a lour of the fruit export districts of New Zealand, the last place in bis itinerary being Hastings, where he is to meet the fruitgrowers to-morrow night. Alter that Mr. Stephens will bo attending to board matters in Wellington, and expects to sail for England by the cud of next, month.
