Wairnea, s.s., (2.5 a.m.), 454 tons Inman, fur Napier.

The Wairnea completed the discharge of her Auckland cargo here yesterday and sailed at 2 a.m. to-day for Napier. From Napier the vessel proceeds to Auckland to load again for Napier and Gisborne.

The Kahika. loading for Napier and Gisborne, is expected to leave Lyttelton to-day for Wellington. She is due here about Wednesday to discharge. The Kaituna, with 'timber from New-' castle, now discharging here, is .expected to complete, and sail on Saturday next for Napier. The Kaiapoi. with coal for Gisborne. Napier, and Wellington, ms due hero on Monday next to discharge.

The New Zealand Shipping Co.'s liner Rimutaka, which is now leading wool and general cargo at Tokomhru Bay for London, is expected to complete at the Coast, port to-mon'ow and sail later for Gisborne. She arrives here on Monday morning to commence, loading further cargo for London, and on completion here the same day the .vessel proceeds to Napier. The Aorangi, from' Vancouver, via ports, arrives at Sydney to-morrow. She leaves ,Sydney orl Novemlber 15 for Suva, Honolulu and Vancouver.

The Niagara, front Sydney, via, ports, arrives at Vancouver to-day. She will leave Vancouver on November 14, for Honolulu, Suva, Auckland and Sydney. The Maungauui, from San Francisco, leaves Papeete to-morrow for Rarotonga, Wellington, and Sydney. . . The Makura, from Sydney■ and Wellington, leaves .Rarotonga to-morrow for Papeete and' &an Francisco. The Awahou arrived at 7.20 p.m. yesterday from coast bays and Auckland. She is expected to spii again to-night on the return trip north. , The Mako is due here to-morrow from Wellington. On completion of discharge here the steamer returns to Wellington. The Putiki. from Wellington and Waikokopu, should arrive here to-morrow to,discharge cargo. The Kaon is still transhipping cargo to this liner Rimutaka at Tokomaru Bay.

The Gunbar is expected at Gist’iorne from coast, bays and Auckland this afternoon, and proceeds hence to Napier.

Purchase of cranes and other wharf equipment, at a total cost, of £22,14u 8s has been decided upon, by the Lyttelton Harbor Board. The _ equipment is for the No. S jetty at the’port ahd will comprise two 5-ton grabbing cranes (at. £4579 each) together with rails, girders, grabs, plug hokeS and spare parts, for a total sum of £12,621 8s; and two more similar cranes at £4579 each, also two grabs at' £lB4 each, making a, grand total of £22.147 Bs. Early yesterday morning a'terrific gale swept across Bluff harbor, causing a fair amount of damage to the fisiring and oyster boats moored at the wharves. The wind rose about 2 a.m. from the west-nnr’west, and soon attained gale force. Many of the vessels Were in danger of drifting on to the rocks ashore through the parting of mooring lines, but the, watchman was aware of the danger, and quickly got rnto communication with the various owners. Most, of the damage was done to the fishing vessels, one btia't’s stern being shattered. The weather improved considerably later in the morning.—l\A.
