BRITISH PLANE’S TEST THE FINAL PRACTICE (British Official Wireless.) Rec. Oct. 11. RUGBY, Get. 10. In his final practice lliglit in the supermarine Napier seaplane S 5, in which he hopes to break Major di Bernardi’s flying speed record, Flight-Lieutenant Darcy Greig put up a speed estimated at more than 310 miles an hour at (ia 1 shot this afternoon. Major di Bernardi’s record is olß| miles an hour. The Cuuard liner Aquitania was steaming up the Solent ns Lieut. Grieg was about to start, and CalslioL air station sent a wireless message to the liner .asking Iter to reduce speed. The captain at once ordered slow speed, and the Aquitania was practically hove-to while Lieut, (heig made Ins flight. Alter one more flight, if the weather continues favorable, Lieut. Greig will make his official attempt on the record.
