COMPETITIONS SOCIETY
A meeting of the Competitions Society was held last evening, those present being : Messrs. C. V. Harre, in the chair, A. C. Terry, A. J. Nicol, C. Blackburn, R. B. Pearson, H. Johns, F. R. Ball, G. Crawshaw, W. Hamilton Irvine, and Canon Packe. Apologies were, received from Messrs. F. J. Rowley, L. T. i'.urnard, and J. Chrisp. 1 Advice was received from the society’s judges and official accompanist, stating that they would arrive in Gisborne, on Thursday evening. The secretary of the Gisborno Musicians’ Unemployment Relief Fund 'liad enquired as to whether the visiting judges would give items at their next concert. After a brief discussion the society decided to allow the judges of music and elocution to contribute towards the programme. The prices for the demonstration matinee were, fixed at 2s and os, children to be admitted for half-price downstairs only. The matinee will commence at 2 p-m., and not 2.15 p.m. as prok viously advertised.
