Air. J. Crowley, instructor to the Pahiatua (Boxing Club, had a narrow escape from a serious accident. He was proceeding in his five-seatel* car to Woodville. At the Makuri road a motor-cycle was suddenly seen in front of the ‘car going in the same direction. Mr. Crowley, who was at the wheel, swerved his car to avoid a collision, with the result that his vehicle mounted a bank on the side of the road, throwing out the occupants. Mr. Crowley sustained concussion and was unconscious for some two hours. The other occupants of tlie car were practically unhurt. The car was slightly damaged.
