INDIANAPOLIS (U. 5.),, May 31, i Twenty-nine ears started punctually at 10 o'clock this morning, in.th4 annual 500-mile motor race. A huge crowd, estimated at IEO,OOO, filled the grandstands, lined'the rails, and watched the cars roaring round the 2|-mile brick track at a-speed of more than 100 miles per hour. Rain began to fall,' after 350 miles, when Olcason was leading by a few miles with an average speed of more than 102 miles per hour, breaking all records for that distance.
The race, was won by Louis Meyer; driving a. Miller Special. •
