At the monthly meeting of Die Hawke's Bay Kducation Hoard on Friday the secretary reported that the following applications for subsidies had been submitted to the department since the lasl meeting: Awapuni, piano, library, tree planting, £37 10s; Makuri, pictures, £} ; Wairoa, typewriters, £2611s 6d; Tolagn Hay, pictures, £4 2s 6d; Mnhorn, fence arid gates, £62; ftfangapapn, library, £5; Waipaou. pictures, £1 17s 6d. The following subsidies, he' added, bad been approved Ivy the department: Mahora £4l 10s; Awapuni £57 10s: Makauri £1; Tolaga Bay £4 2s 6d.
