The importance of Colonel Charles Lindbergh as the outstanding figure in American aviation was again demonstrated when, following an announcement that, he had accepted the technical adviser's position with tho Trans-Con-tinental Air Transport Co., aIL aeroplane and accessory stocks jumped 5 to 16 points on the. Stock Exchange. j Tho ,;Natfonal Transportation,-System, combining aeroplanes and the* fastest trams,, is. being inaugurated to cutthe time from New York to San Francisco, about 2600 miles, to exactly two days. There will be parallel rail and air services, so as to avoid tiring the passengers unduly by prolonged .air flights.
