A motion was discussed by the Harbor 'Board protesting against tho .system of flat rate for freight: from all ports of Now Zealand, and tho setting up of ,i' committee to go into the question in all its bearings.

Mr. G. Mitchell, tho mover, said Wellington Avas being unjustly penalised to make up the loss on other ports, and £I,OGO,COO a year was being lost.
