WEDDING

DRAKE—GRAYSON A charming wedding was solemnised in Holy Trinity Church yesterday afternoon, when Lucy Elizabeth, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Grayson, of Waimarie, Ormond, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Stewart Armyn, second son ,of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Drake, of Torero, Opotiki. The Rev. R. Hodgson officiated at the ceremony, Mr. E. N. Sidebottom presiding at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked very pretty in an exquisite frock of filmy white georgette beautifully embroidered with beaxls, and falling at the sides to create a smart uneven hem line. She also wore- a beautiful long Brussels net veil, arranged with skull cap and caught up with posies of orange blossoms over the ears. Silver shoes and stockings were worn. The bride carried a lovely bouquet of chrysanthemums, carnations, roses, with maidenhair and asparagus fern, the long trails of which fell to the hem of her frock. Two maids attended the bride, these being the Misses Evelyn and Hilda Jones, cousins of the bride, who wero attired in dainty frocks of gold shot taffeta, with scalloped hems and finished, at the waist with a large bow of picot-edged ribbon. Posies of goUlen-petalled chrysanthemums were worn oh-the shoulders, with bandeaux of gold leaves to tone; the bridesmaids also carried bouquets of chrysanthemums, celosias and maidenhair feru, with gold streamers. Mr. Fergus Grant was the best man, and Mr. J. Jones the groomsman.

The bridegroom's present to the bride was a string of pearls, and to the bridesmaids a gold initialled signet ring, and a gold armlet Respectively.

The bride's mother wore a becoming frock of black erepe-de-chine, combined with georgette and offset with a petunia posy and small black velvet hat. Her bouquet was composed of zinnias, roses and. maidenhair fern. . After the ceremony a reception was held at the Trocad'ero, where , the bride and bridegroom received the congratulations of their many friends, after which the wedding banquet was held, the tables being" beautifully decorated with 'flowers and autumn foliage, the centre-piece being a beautiful three-tiered wedding cake, which was cut and distributed by the bride. The usual toasts were honored, the music being played by Miss Nancye (.'oates, a cousin of the bride. Many beautiful and costly gifts were received.

Later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Drake left amid showers of confetti on their honeymoon,' which will be spent in Auckland. The bride travelled in a. rose ensemble costume, with hat to tone, and red fox furs.
