Having taicen Ms "medical degree at Edinburgh, he began to practice as a specialist, and soon, wm a reputation as an authority on tiie brain. In 1889 he was appointed emeritus professor of neuropathology at King's College Hospital, and to .the" National Hospital for the- Paralysed and Epileptic. ' ' Ferrier, who was knighted in 1911,, wrote" The Functions of the Brain, % 1876, " Cerebral Localisation,'" IS,7S. JS99, etc." ' , - '
