The Daily Telegraph’s Cairo correspondent' stresses tlie view that Egypt is nearing 'a grave crisis. Nalias Pasha’s latest statement, made to a German journalist, is the boldest yet made. He declared the Egyptian Government did not recognise the declaration of February, 1922, because Egypt was never pari of the British Empire. It was impossible to confer independence, which was an inherent and an essential right. He added that the Government was determined to proceed with the Assembly s law.
