Although she does not. recognise a Icing, France has no lack of queens, for tho custom, according to which each district and each branch of national activity elects a queen for a year, is becoming more and more popular. Each arrondissement of Paris already has its queen, and so have the different trades and professions. The “Queen of Paris’ ’ was elected from among these other queens yesterday, and will be the central figure in the forthcoming Mid-Lent celebrations as well as representing the city of Paris at various provincial fetes during the ensuing year. She is Mile. Paulette Caillot, au 18-year-old violinist, and in this age of: shingled hair Parisienncs wiU'noto with interest flint this young woman whose beauty is thus honored is one of the minority who have kept to the fashion of long hair.
