BONDI-BATHER'S PLIGHT "" SYDNEY, April 15. Maxwell Steele. 19, was attacked by a jshark in the surf nt Boudi. He .fought off the monster and swam 30 yards to the shore with his left leg stripped of flesh from ankle to knee. There wore few bathers present at the time and Steele's condition was not noticed .for, "a time. When found he was rushed to hospital where" it was found that amputation of the leg was necessary. His conditiou is critical. ■
