————" 9— ' NEWTON ABBOT, March 6. The tiny parish of Woodland, near Newton Abbot,, lias the ancient right of choosing its own vicar, and the election took place last night, by ballot. All persons on the local government electors list- were entitled to vote. There were fifty applicants for the living, which is worth £2OO, and the Rev. J.' Forest, of Birmingham, was elected, receiving 43 out of the 47 votes recorded.
