Tho first meeting of the Avondalo Jockey Club on its own course lor two iiiid a-half years, during which time extensive improvements have been made to tho race track, commenced yesterday in dull, but lino weather. The totalisator handled £48,826, compared with £57,265 on the first day of lust year, when the meeting Mas held at Ellerslie. Additional results: All-Aged Stakes, six furlongs.—l G. RANDWICK MEETING LIMERICK STILL UNBEATEN. BRILLIANT KING'S CUP VICTORY. SYDNEY, April 15. The autumn racing carnival eon-

eluded at Baud wick on Saturday in showery weather. There was an attendance of 45,000. The track was in good order. Exciting finishes were the order of the day, two races resulting in dead heats.

Limerick won tin: King's Cup brilliantly. He was second to last, at the half-mile, but moving swiftly at /the turn joined issue with the leaders, and prevailed by a short head. The champion's victory was a worthy finale to his notable successes during (lie meeting. The crowd broke out in a tumult of applause when Limerick was returning to scale. Results were:—

Rous Handicap, first division: Royal Tune 9.1, 1; Energique 7.7, 2; Proposterer, 10.3, 3. Fifteen started. Kapuna led the field to the turn from Quince and Royal Tune. The latter took charge at the distance, and gained the verdict by a length. Time, 1.251Rous Handicap, second division: Karnma 7.9, 1; Reonui 10.3, 2; Boaster 11.1, 3. Twelve started. Sir Gledalc was the curly pace-maker from Karnma, Maltferu, Sir Allen anil Reonui. Karnma took command at the distance and won comfortably toy three length?. Time, 1.24}. Dangor Handicap: Mountain Prince 7.10, I, Rionscup 8.18, 2; Vallino 8.3, 3. Fifteen started. Drawbridge was in charge out of the straight from Spaghetti. Black Duchess and Dion. Along the back of the course Spaghetti had charge from Black Duchess, Attractive and Drawbridge. Turning home Spaghetti showed the way to Mountain Prince and Rionscup. Mountain Prince came fast at the distance and won toy two lengths. Time, 2.3.1?;. Second Steeplechase: Eastern Scot 9.3, 1; Gunlike 9.0. 2; Gay Gordon 9.0, 3. Six started: Mondit and Prince Arim led at the first, jump, but passing the stand for the first time Mondit and Prince Arim fell. Along the back of the course Goblin also fell. The winner thereafter was not troubled, and won by threequarters of a furlong. Time, 6.422. KING'S CUP. Limerick (McOarten) 9.5 .. 1 Valparaiso (Ellis) 7.5 2 Winalot (Toohey) 8.(1 .. .- 3 Valparaiso led out of the straight ahead of Jocelyn, Simeon's Fort, and Winalot. Limerick was last along tho back of the course, Valparaiso be in<g two lengths (dear of Simeon's Fort, Tangible, and Winalot. Moving fast, Limerick ran into third position turning for home, and at the distance was on equal tonus with Valparaiso and Winalot, and in a desperate struggle prevailed by a head. There were eight starters. Time, 2.32 A. Fernhill Handicap: Yodelist 7.3, and Balmcrino 5.5. head heat, 1; Star Warden 8.6. 3. Seventeen started. Star Warden" began smartly from Panola, Stanza and Bob's March, and led into the straight ahead of Bob's March, Panola and Jeypore. Finishing fast, Yodelist and Balmcrino challenged Star Warden and running evenly gained the verdict bv a length. Time, 1.86. Final Handicap: Spearor 9.2, and Lovobox 7.2, dead heat, 1; Boonala 7o 3. Fifteen started. Boonala, Kitty Paddinglon, Justify, and Honan led tho field into the straight. Lovebox assumed control at the distance from Boonala. Spearer coming fast joined Lovcbox and shared the verdict. Time, 2.6;
