PASSENGER SHIP RAMS WAR VESSEL
SAN PEDRO. CAL., March 17. The outgoing liner Ruth Alexander, bound for San Diego, last night rammed the (J.S. battleship Colorado and nicked a 12ft bole through the battleship’s steel bide on the top deck, starboard side. The Ruth Alexander was not damaged sufficiently to interrupt its voyage. Mo lives wore lost. The battleship sounded a collision wanting, and Com ntander Prank Fletcher, executive officer of the ship, had his men out of the way when the impact proved unavoidable. * A court, of inquiry lias been convened The. Colorado was entering tho outer harbor at low speed when the liner approached at higher speed. Both sounded whistle signals.
