The Star {'Publishes the following report to-day• The president of the United States Steel Corporation .is given as authority for the announcement that this company, lias decided to establish itself in Canada and to build branch factories for the Canadian market and for export. It is said that the proposals cover all lines made by steel companies.now operating in Canada, and that the pay-roll will cover some thousands of employees. Circles in close touch with the president state that this move has been long contemplated, but has been held up in expectation that the Canadian tariff would bo amended. Now, however, the company is going to take the plunge. Preliminary operations will be undertaken immediately with the .establishment of a factory at Ojibwayj near Windsor, Ontario.
