VAST WAVE HITS LEVIATHAN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received April 10, 10 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 9. The Leviathan docked to-day battered and damaged by a vast wave which struck her in mid-ocean, smashed a searchlight on the forward deck, 85ft. above the water, smashed lifeboats, and bent ventilators and the iron top of the companion way. Tons of water entered the forward part of the vessel, necessitating the removal of some third-class passengers.
