SEA SILVER

VAREA SALVAGE. SYDNEY, March 17. When the Norwegian steamer Yarra was burnt at Oizb, in the Solomons, she was carring zinc slabs and silver-lead ore from Tasmania to the value of £53,000. An expedition is about to set out from Svdney to' recover this treasure. ‘To undertake .this work the Yarra Salvage Syndicate has. just been formed. The steamer Maianbar has boen secured and will leave for the Solomons at the end of next week. The salvage work is to be done by Albert and Co., and Diver Lambert, who has bad a great deal of salvage in various parts of the world, will take charge of the diving operations at Gizo. It is proposed to salvage the steamer first ami then get the cargo out of her.
