NEW GERMAN CRUISER REMARKABLE FEATURES (Australian and N 7. CaWe Association LONDON, March 28. The Daily Telegraph’s naval correspondent says that the design for Germany’s "new 10,000-ton cruiser represents an innovation in naval construction. The steel is of the- highest quality and electric welding is employed, instead of rivets, thus combining great /strength and extraordinary lightness. ' It will have Diesel engines of astonishing power, but the radius will be limited, as it will be of the type designed for the Baltic and North Sea. The hull is so subdivided that the vessel is virtually unsiiikable. The ship’s superstructure is reduced to a minimum. It is really a sea-going, motor driven monitor, able to navigate waters inaccessible to ordinary battleships, and is yet able to engage a dreadnought with good prospects of success. >
