At a meeting of the H.B. Cricket Association a letter was received from the Hastings , Sub-Association stating that its junior players would not he available for the junior match against Poverty Bay as these players were engaged against a Wellington team. It was felt that the Hastings association was not treating the Hawke’s Bay Association with the consideration it should as their actipn made it impossible for a representative side to be got together. It was suggested by Mr. Stevenson that delegates be appointed to confer with the Hastings committee in order -to come to a better understanding. Mr. Signail suggested that in future the Hastings selectors confer with the Hawke’s Bay selectors with regard to tlie selection of junior representatives before, making other arrangements. Cither members stated that it was too late in the season tq take any action, and it was finally decided that early next season something would be . done in that respect. Reporting on the recent, criqket match at Gisborne, Mr. G Tempertop informed the H.B. Cricket Association that the weather copditions were bad until midday on the Friday, when it was found necessary to pluv\on the concrete wicket with a covering of matting He attributed the defeat of the Hawke s Bay team to bad fielding and the wicket. It was decided to thank the Gisborne Association for its hospitality, and to invite it next year to play again at Niij)inr with tho .Kirk Oup nt stnkc.
