The Governor-General and party left Greymouth this morning for Westport, after a most successful visit.—P.A.

Mr. C. A. Hart, Wellington City engineer, was nominated last, evening by the Gisborne Borough Council as a member of the Plumbers Board of New Zealand, subject to Mr. Hart’s approval.

Mr." A. .Young, borough engineer, and Mr. G. W. Albertson, District Public Works engineer, are at present in Wellington attending the annual conference of the New Zealand Society of Civil Engineers.*

Several former residents of the West Coast of the South Island who are now living in Poverty Bay are to participate in the Greymouth jubilee celebrations, which commence on Saturday. Among these are Mr. H. H. ffieOosta, who left on Sunday' as the representative of the Gisborne ' Borough Council, Mr. John Jackson, of Gisborne, who is leaving to-morrow, and Mr F. McNee, of Makarnka.

The Rev. L. Sale Harrison, of Sydney, a prominent Baptist minister of New South Wales, will pay a brief visit to Gisborne, arriving here on March 3. Mr. Harrison is one of the foremost prophetic students and teachers of Australia, and is the author oil several publications on the subject, including, ■‘The Remarkable Jew.” His present visit to New Zealand is being conducted under the auspices of the New Zealand Bible League, an organisation standing for the defence of the Scriptures against modern errors.

At the invitation of the New Zealand branch of the B.M.A. there arrived at Auckland yesterday by the Ulimaroa from Sydney Mr. Victor Bonney, one of the most 'noted gynaecological and obstetric surgeons in the world. Mr. Bonney has come to New Zealand as a British delegate to file British Medical Association’s conference, which opens in Hamilton to-day. Mr. Bonney was especially asked also to be present at the first meeting of the newly-formed New Zealand Obstetric Society. '1 his is his first visit to New Zealand. Besides taking part in all discussions at Hamilton. Mr. Bonnoy will tour New Zealand lecturing and demonstrating.
