AMATEUR ATHLETICS

EVENING TRACK MEETING Four good events were concluded at the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club’s meeting, held last evening on the reserve. The attendance was good, and tho events aroused the usual degree of interest. Ih°re was a disappointing field in the ladies 100yds. handicap, one heat sufficing to dispose of all the runners. IX H. Francis made another appearance in the mile handicap, and from the scratch mark put up ft fine run, but. finished third, Fisken winning from 115yds. F. Pollard won the cycle handicap of one mile,- and the furlong run was won by G. Anderson, from 21JydS.; while Miss Haismau secured the premier placing in the ladies’ race.

Time, 22 4-ssec. Won .by a yard and a-half, with two feet between second and third.
