OPIUM TRADER GAOLED
DARWIN, .lan. Pi. The Darwin Police Court has been crowded with Chinese during the last two days during the hearing of the charge of selling opium against Willie Howie, the local leader of Chinese society. Sergeant Strotton described him as a parasite- living on the vices of his fellow countrymen. Accused was convicted, and sentenced lo three months' imprisonment with hard labor. The sentence was suspended until to-morrow to allow the accused to lodge an appeal.
