SEAMEN’S COMPLAINT

DENIAL BY OFFICERS (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. In reply to a signed statement to tho American Consul by four men. of the ship West Togus, Captain Williamson, master of tho vessel, and tho chief engineer, Mr. Cfordall, emphatically denied all tho allegations, including- tho complaints in regard' to-tho water supply and food. They denied 1 also the allegation of objectionable language and threats by officers during the voyage from America. An outsider who had meals on the vessel substantiates the statement Of the captain and the chief engineer. One man, said to be instigator of the trouble, was signed off on Saturday, and the rest of the crew is working quietly to-day.
