TARANAKI CHAMPIONSHIPS (Per Press Association.) NEW .PLYMOUTH, last night. The Taranaki tennis championships were concluded yesterday. In the final- of the men's singles E. L. Bartleet (Auckland) defeated Wilson (Wellington), ,6 —4, 4 —6, 6—3, Wilson retired. Ladies’ singles: Miss Tracey (Wellington) beat Mrs. Melody (Wellington), 6—3, 3 —6, 6 —4. Men’s doubles: A. N. Wallace and C. J. Dickie (Wavcrley) defeated Bartleet and Griffiths (Auckland), 6—2, 3—o, 6—4, 2—6, 11—9. Ladies’ doubles: Misses G. Calver and Myers (Wanganui) beat Mrs. Melody and Miss Shortt (Wellington), 6—3, 6—3. Combined doubles: M. L. Lampe and Miss Myers (Wanganui) boat C. B. Webster and - Mrs. Scott-Watsou (Auckland), 12—10, 6—2. Boys’ singles: M. Mitchell (Napier) boat/ A. Dickio (Wavcrley), 6—2. 4—6, 6—l. Girls’ singles: Miss M, Cave (Eltliam) beat Miss M. Brodie (Now Plymouth).
