MELBOURNE, Doc. 19. The power house at Gisborne was destroyed by lire Ibis afternoon. The town am! railway station at New Gisborne were lit from the power house at Old Gisborne. The council had the building and plant insured for £IOOO, but that will not. cover the damage done. The engines and generators willbe of no further use, and it is doubtful whether the works will .be again re-established before Yallonm takes over, which may mean 18 months or lunger.-
