SEAMEN STOP WORK
SHIPOWNERS STOP PAY SYDNEY, Dec. 28. In defiance- of the Commonwealth Steamship Owners’ Association the inter-Stato seamen held a monthly stop-work meeting to-day instead of yesterday, as the latter was a publicholiday. The owners state that the men committed a breach of the recent agreement, which states that these meetings must be held on the last Tuesday in each month, and the men, therefore, are not to be paid for toclav.
