PEACE SHIELD TOURNAMENT Twenty-six rinks have entered for the Peace Shield howling tournament, which is to take place on Monday and Tuesday next on the greens in Gisborne. The entries were: Kahutia 9, Gisborne 8, Poverty Bay 7, Tolaga Bay 1, and New Plymouth L The matches are to be played in two sections of -eight rinks and one of 10 rinks. Second Day, Gisborne Green

Fifth round: Moore v. Dudfield, Somervell v. Smart, Gambrill v. Neill, Clouston v. Hickman, and Morse v. Bright. Sixth round: Gambrill v. Hickman, Smart v. Moore, Neill v. Dudfield, Somervell v. D. G. Robert-* son will open the tournament on the Kahutia green, .T. J. Martin will open the play on the Gisborne green, and W. J. '.McGibbon will open on the Poverty Bay green. All bowls must lie on the grounds foi- examination at. 8.4.4 a.m., and the games will start at 9 a.m. The rule “howls must bear the stamp of 3925 or later years” will be strictly enforced, it is stated. The luncheon adjournment will be from 12.45 p.m. to 1,4.5 p.m.
