NEW YEAR ATTRACTION AT PARK Splendid entries have been received for the Gisborne Sports Motor Cycle Club’s second annual race meeting to be held at the Park racecourse on Monday next. Riders from all over the North Island will be competing,

and the meeting promises to be the largest of its kind ever held in this district. A programme of nine events has been arranged, and there should be a large attendance of the public at the Park.

The principal race of the day will lie the contest for the New Zealand heavyweight championship, in which

Percy Coleman, the present holder ofthe title, will be seen. Ilis chief opponents will be Jack Arnott (Napier) Svlu), with his 7 h.p. Bitza, is riding consistently at present and registered some splendid times at the Opotiki meeting on Monday; W. Herbert

(Auckland), who won the big event at the Park last Boxing Day; Henry

M oiler (Ilawera), ox-middleweight

champion of New Zealand, who represented the Dominion at the famous T.T, rkces on the Isle of Man in l!)2(i; Cass Goodwin (Auckland), ox-light-weight champion of New Zealand, and who was in great form at Opotiki this week; and many other well-known speedsters from' practically all over the North Island. The arrangements arc well in hand for the meeting, and the visiting riders are expected to arvive about the end of the week. The trnelc at the Park racecourse has been specially prepared, erd some fast times should be put up by the visiting cracks. The first race starts at 12.15 p.m. on Monday, and a speeial train will leave town for the course at 12,15 p.m. The official liandlcapper, Air. J. 8.

.Tephson, will bo present at the meeting, and will adjust the handicaps for nil but two events as the day proceeds.
