NEW FRENCH PARTY
5,000,000 EX-SOLDIERS TO POOL THEIR VOTES. PARIS, November 17. _ French domestic politics mqy be radically altered by the decision taken last night by the national congress of ex-ser-vice men’s societies to join in a single federation with the object Of taking an active and distinct part in national politics. They represent about 5,000,000 voters.
This new departure has already caused an immense stir among the older* political parties. In one Of their resolutions the ex-combatants declare:—
“ Respecting libefty of conscience, we are Of opinion that the time has come for ex-service men to intervene in pubi lie life and to make felt the weight of their moral and social effort without for that sacrificing their present political ideals, but joining in a common effortfor .mutual comprehension of those problems which most concern national interests.”
