MORERE NOTES
(Herald Correspondent.) There was a full attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Morere School Committee, Mr. M. It. Shaw presiding. Accounts amounting to £3 were passed for payment. It was decided that instead of holding the school picnic as usual, tho committee should find the cost of taking the scholars to the beach in Gishorne, Cook's monument, and places of historic interest about Gishorne. It was agreed to improve the school grounds further, and to purchase) a good lawnmower if the. board would assist with a grant. The powers that be are evidently taking a much keener interest in tho provision of facilities at Morere for toujrists. ground will be available for camping.- A largo fence has been removed north of the springs, a bank is to be levelled, a drain filled, and a good approach made, and this should provide a camping ground of over a mile in length, from near Mr. Stokes' farm to tho south to the bridge at the foot of Shaw's hill to tho north. The extension of tho camping ground will be a boon to motorists.
