LABOR SALE OF WORK
Liberty i ln 11 this afternoon presented a scene of Animation and industry when the Labor carnival arid sale of wprk was officially opened. In the absence of the Mayor, Mr. C. E f Armstrong, Mr, D. W. Coleman performed the opening ceremony. In a brief speech., he congratulated the ladies" for their fine display, wishing them every RUCBgss. He also read an apology for the absence of the Mayor, written by Mrs. Armstrong, who wished 'the l-tdieu tivnry success. The numerous stalls wore tastefully drcniated, and loaded with wares. The stallholders wowi: Bowing, Mesihutios Cotton and MVIllroy; fancy, Misses Hudson and McCarlliy; toys, Mrs. Hanson; cakoS) Mrs.. Thompson; pioducc, Mrs. Taylor; jumble, Mrs. Prentice; ice cream and sweets, Misses Walker, Coleman, and Bickford. After-' noon tea was served by Mrs. JJudgon and a band of helpers. A concert will ho hold to-night, when a short musical programme will bo presented. To-inorrow afternoon a baby show will be held. Dr. Gunn will be the adjudicator,
