NAPIER WOOL SALE

OFFERING GREATLY, INCREASED EFFECT OP WELLINGTON RISE Last week it was anticipated that the ottering at the Napier sale to-day would attract only about BCOO hales, but since the favorable trend of prices at the Wellington sale on Monday was made known, additional lots were catalogued so that now there was an ottering of'over 15,000 bales, of which 2&.1came from Gisborne. There were large quantities, including some from Poverty Bay, in store at Napier that were not intended for today's sale, but apparently the Wellington prices induced many of the farmers to liberate all their available wool while there were bright prospects. It is estimated that if the Wellington prices provail to-day it will mean approximately £500,000 to the districts represented. The following list indicates the numbers of bales catalogued by the individual brokers, Gisborne being represented bv 2218 bales : H.B. Gis.
