The s.s. Awahou arrived at Gisborne at 1.30 p.m. to-day from Tokoman} Bay and Auckland. Mr. H. V. Bell, until recently assistant manager for the New Zealand Shipping Co. in Auckland, has been appointed manager at Gisborne, and will take over his duties here shortly. Mr. Bell was tendered a farewell function early in the week by the Auckland staffs ot the Union Co. and the New Zealand Shipping Co.
