ARBITRATION BILL

ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Further evidence on behalf of the dairy industry in regard to the Arbitration Amendment Bill was given before the Labor Bills Committee by Mr. Fisher, chairman of the..Farmers’ Dairy Federation, Southland. To a man the Southland farmers stood behind the Bill, though there was a, doubt of its being a complete solution. He believed a tribunal within the industry would solve the problem, with a right of appeal to a judge alone, who, should judge a case on the evidence placed before the internal tribunal. A judge had bigger things than these to settle, and three judges would not be needed. Mr. T. Bloodworth, Auckland, gave evidence on behalf of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners, and several other Auckland unions.
