ALREADY COST £1,000,000

ST. MARY'S CATHEDRAL, SYDNEY SYDNEY, Oct, 26. Tho work of completing St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral, Hyde Park, Sydney, is being proceeded with as speedily as circumstances will permit. There is a strong desire on the part ot tho clergy and laity to have tho building finished and opened before the Eucharistio Congress in September of next year. Construction of rich masonry ot this character is naturally slow, but every available mason is engaged on the work, and the people of the different parishes have agreed to double their contributions in order to speed up the work. Already the work, has cost £I,COO,OCO. One pleasing, feature in connection with this building is that industrial troubles have been entirely absent.
