PHIL SCOTT'S CONQUEROR
KNTJTE HANSEN'S RECORD The man who beat Phil Scott in Saturday's inglorious battle in New York is regarded as being only within stonesthrow of the top flight of heavyweights in America. Ivnute Hansen has received mention from many of the New York sporting papers, but usually in an ironic vein, the critics regarding him generally as a. fair enough "stalkinghorse" for the "trial ol new stars, buff no man to consider seriously as a world's championship proposition. Ivnute is a Danish-American, 'born in 1903, at Copenhagen, and later! settled in the States. When he got his growth, Hansen became known as the "Big /Swede," his weight running to 2051b5. and his height well over 6ft. He made a start in the fight game in 1922, in which year he fought several four-round bouts in Milwaukee with some success, and later he went to New York, where he got four short bouts, each of which he won. Then he went a-tonring witlv Jrim Tracy, to South America, on the occasion that 'J"racy met Luis Firpo, the "Wild Bull of the Pampas." A later period found the earnest Knute in 'China, where he had 10 tights, most of his opponents being naval ratings. ' .Another change of scene found him in Europe, with a match in Paris, his opponent being Jack Taylor. His record in the professional ring for the past two years was as follow:*:—l92s : Fought .Jack* Taylor, losing on a foul in the eighth round; beat Ben Touchstone in ■ 6 rounds. 1926: Beat .J. Lawson, technical knock-out; beat Alfredo Borzio, k. 0., in two rounds; lost to Franz Ueiner, points, in 10 rounds; beat Monty Munn, poults, in 10 rounds; bent Q. Rojas, k. 0., in three rounds.
